When are peonies available in South Africa?
Fabulous Flowers' own sales records show two windows rather than one. Over the 24 months to 10 August 2026, our peony-named fresh bouquets sold in October and November 2024, in May and June 2025, and in October and November 2025. Mixed bouquets that include peonies alongside other blooms also sold in July 2025, so treat those two windows as where peony-led designs concentrate rather than as the only months a peony reaches a vase. We do not publish a South African peony season, because our records do not establish one. Supply drives availability, so the live grid above is the only reliable guide to what we can send today.
How much do peonies cost?
Silk peony stems cost R115 to R89.95 at Fabulous Flowers today. The Pink Peony Artificial Flower is R115 and the Peony White Artificial Flower is R135. We list fresh peony bouquets from R975 to R9,005, with the ten stem Coral Sunset Peony Bouquet at R1,835 and twenty stem bouquets at R3,630. Prices checked 9 August 2026.
Choosing peonies
Choose silk when you need certainty and fresh when the season allows. Silk stems arrive individually, last indefinitely and suit an entrance hall or a desk. Fresh peony bouquets come in ten and twenty stem sizes, the only counts our products publish, in pink, coral and red. Several fresh listings are mixed bouquets pairing peonies with roses or delphiniums rather than peonies alone, so check the product page. When peonies are out, our flower bouquets range is the practical fallback.
Peony delivery in Cape Town and Johannesburg
Fresh peony bouquets are a local service. When they are in stock, order before 12pm, Monday to Saturday, for same-day delivery to most Cape Town and Johannesburg suburbs. Silk peonies travel nationwide by courier in 2 to 4 business days from dispatch. We do not courier fresh peonies around the country.
How to care for cut peonies
Start with a clean vase and mix the flower food as directed. Recut the stems, strip any foliage that would sit below the waterline, and change the water every few days. Keep the vase cool, away from heaters and direct sun. This applies to cut peonies in water, not to silk stems. Our guide to caring for flowers in a vase covers the rest.

Are peonies safe around cats and dogs?
No. The ASPCA lists peony as toxic to dogs, cats and horses, so peonies should not be treated as a pet-safe flower. Keep the vase where pets cannot reach it. If you think a pet has eaten any part of a peony, speak to your vet or an animal poison-control service.
