What Is in the Proudly Remembered Casket Spray

Every stem is indigenous, which is the whole point of it. King proteas anchor the spray, one pale and regal at the centre, others blushed deep pink, long a symbol of courage and lasting memory. Around them sit cerise proteas and bright orange pincushions, the fynbos flowers that survive the fires and return, which makes them a quiet emblem of resilience. Cream roses and white snapdragons bring softness and light, and it is all laid through cedar, leucadendron and fine pink erica, so the greenery feels alive rather than like filler.
