What Is In the Chocolate Brownie

• Dense fudgy brownie base rich, soft-middle, slightly chewy at the edges. Made with butter, eggs, dark cocoa and flour. The texture a brownie is meant to have.
• Dark chocolate glaze smooth, set, glossy. Adds the second hit of chocolate that turns a good brownie into a proper one.
• Roasted pecan pieces on top pressed in while the glaze sets. Adds texture and a clean nutty edge that cuts the chocolate.
• Single-portion size sized as one solo treat or a generous half-share for two. Small enough to land as an add-on without dominating a bouquet.
• Hand-made at our Claremont studio, small batch, baked the morning of dispatch, finished in the same building as our florist studio.

How To Serve and Store the Brownie

The brownie arrives ready to lift onto a plate, ready to eat. Best enjoyed at cool room temperature on the day it arrives, with the glaze just-set and the middle soft. If serving the next day, keep at cool room temperature in a sealed container and consume within 3 days. The brownie holds up at room temperature better than the cheesecakes do, which is why it is also the dessert that travels well within Cape Town if the recipient is taking it to the office. The brownie is at its best on the day it arrives, at cool room temperature with the glaze just set. Stored in a sealed container at cool room temperature, it keeps for 3 days. Refrigerated, it firms up but stays edible for up to 5 days. Suitable for freezing for up to 1 month if needed.

Find a Vase: Your lovely blooms need a drink! Put them in your favourite vase with fresh water as soon as possible.

Trim Those Stems: Keep those stems fresh by cutting them at an angle. This allows more water up the stem. Checking and trimming the stems every few days will keep them sound.

Gently Strip Leaves: Remove any excess leaves, especially from the part of the stem that will be submerged. This helps to avoid rot and bacteria, which can shorten your flowers' life span.

Remove Old Blooms: Drooping flowers release ethylene gas, which may accelerate the aging of other flowers. Strip off any dead or dying flowers to keep the rest of the bouquet looking bright and fresh.

Keep Them Cool: Place your flowers away from heat sources such as heaters, televisions, or ovens to retain the beauty of your flowers.

Clean Water: Always place your flowers in clean water. Refresh your vase with water daily or at least every second day.
