Pink Rose Arrangement: Rhapsody, Every Shade of Pink at Once

A rhapsody is a piece of music that refuses to stay in one mood, and this is the flower version. Cerise, pink and lilac roses, designed close and full with clouds of baby's breath and silver eucalyptus, wrapped in kraft paper and finished with a pink satin bow. Our florists have been designing rose arrangements like this in our Claremont studio since 1999, and this one is for the person who cannot pick a favourite shade and should not have to. Browse the rest of our roses, our rose bouquets and the full range of flower arrangements for delivery.

At a Glance

  • Clouds of baby's breath and round-leaf eucalyptus threaded all the way through
  • Designed in a water-holding wrap, so it arrives fed and ready to sit straight on the table
  • Wrapped in kraft paper and finished with a pink satin bow, nothing to unwrap or arrange
  • Designed stem by stem by our florists in our Claremont studio, so no two are quite alike

Three shades of rose, and not one of them apologising.

What Is in the Rhapsody Arrangement

Roses in every register. Cerise leads, loud and certain, the deepest pink in the box. Soft pink lifts it and gives the whole thing air. Lilac does the surprising bit, the note you do not expect in a rose arrangement and then cannot unsee. Baby's breath drifts through it like white confetti, and round-leaf eucalyptus cools the pinks down so it reads rich rather than sweet. If this is the mood but you want it gentler, our Harmony arrangement plays a softer version of the same idea, our Blush Harmony rose bouquet takes it softer still, and our mixed rose bouquet goes brighter.

What Do Pink and Lilac Roses Mean?

Rose colour carries meaning, which is why an arrangement in several shades says more than one in a single colour. Pink roses mean admiration, gratitude and grace, and cerise, the deepest pink of them, adds gladness and thanks with the volume turned up. Lilac and purple roses mean enchantment and love at first sight. Baby's breath, threaded between them, has long meant everlasting love and sincerity. Put them together and you are not making one statement, you are making several at once, which is exactly what a rhapsody does.

When to Send Rhapsody

Send it for a birthday that deserves noise, an anniversary that is not solemn, a thank you that needs to be felt rather than read. It sits happily in our birthday bouquet range and among our gifts for her, and it turns up beautifully in February beside our Valentine's Day roses. For the lilac notes on their own, our purple roses and lilac flowers collections are worth a wander. If the baby's breath is the part you love, our baby's breath bouquet gives it the whole stage, with more in our baby's breath flowers range. Our guide to what flowers symbolise, our piece on flower meanings and our help on choosing the perfect bouquet will settle the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What roses are in the Rhapsody arrangement?

Cerise, pink and lilac roses, designed with clouds of baby's breath and round-leaf eucalyptus, wrapped in kraft paper with a pink satin bow. Stems vary gently with the season, as any honest arrangement does, but the three-shade cerise, pink and lilac mix is the point and it stays.

What is the difference between a flower arrangement and a bouquet?

A bouquet is hand-tied at the stems and usually needs a vase when it arrives. An arrangement is designed to hold its shape and comes ready to display, in this case in a water-holding wrap, so it can go straight onto the table. Rhapsody is an arrangement, which is why it arrives fed and standing rather than needing a job done to it.

What do pink roses mean?

Pink roses mean admiration, gratitude and grace, which makes them the most versatile rose there is. They say thank you, well done, I am thinking of you and I love you, without the full declaration a red rose makes. That is why a pink rose arrangement suits birthdays, thank-yous and anniversaries equally.

Do lilac roses mean something different?

They do. Lilac and purple roses traditionally mean enchantment and love at first sight, which is a lovely thing to slip into an arrangement without announcing it. They are also simply unexpected among pinks, and that is half of why this one works.

How long will the roses last, and does it need a vase?

Expect five to seven days, and longer with a little care. It arrives in its own water-holding wrap, so it needs no vase on day one. Top up the water on arrival and refresh it every second day, keep it out of direct sun and away from heaters and the fruit bowl, and give the stems a fresh cut on a slant when you move it into a vase.

Can Rhapsody be delivered the same day?

Yes. Order before 12pm, Monday to Saturday, and we hand-deliver the same day across Cape Town and Johannesburg. Order earlier in the day where you can, so our florists have room to design it properly.
