Every orchid here is a living plant, not a cut flower. That changes what you are giving: a potted orchid keeps flowering, and with reasonable care comes back the following year. It stays in the room long after a bouquet would have gone.

The range splits into two clear formats. A single potted orchid is one plant in a pot, ready for a desk, a windowsill or a bathroom shelf. An orchid planter is several orchids arranged together in a large decorative container, built as a statement piece for an entrance hall or a reception desk.

How much does an orchid cost?

Single potted orchids are R900 to R995. Orchid planters and larger multi-orchid designs run from R3,015 to R5,545. There is nothing in between, because those are two genuinely different products rather than points on one scale. Choosing an orchid

Decide on scale first. Under R1,000 buys a single plant, which suits a birthday, a thank-you or a housewarming. Over R3,000 buys a designed planter, sent for an office opening, a milestone, or a gift where the arrival should make an impression. Colour comes second: the current range covers white and cerise pink. Orchid delivery

Orchids are a Cape Town delivery item. Order before 12pm, Monday to Saturday, and we deliver same day to most Cape Town suburbs. We do not courier orchids nationwide and we do not send them to Johannesburg, because they travel as living plants rather than packed flowers. Caring for a potted Phalaenopsis

This applies to Phalaenopsis, the moth orchid, and not to every orchid. Give it bright light but not direct midday sun, which scorches the leaves. Let the growing medium dry out before watering again rather than watering to a fixed schedule, because how fast it dries depends on the season, the pot and the room. Water thoroughly, then let it drain, and never leave the plant standing in water. Care differs for Cymbidium, Dendrobium and other orchid types.

Potted plants. Every orchid in this collection is a living plant or a planted arrangement. We do not currently sell cut orchid stems, orchid bouquets or orchid vase arrangements.

What orchids can I order from Fabulous Flowers?

Single potted orchids and multi-orchid planters. One current product is named as a Phalaenopsis. The others are sold under design names, and our product records do not state a genus for them, so we do not claim one.

How should I care for a potted Phalaenopsis orchid?

Bright indirect light, no direct midday sun. Let the medium dry out between waterings rather than watering on a schedule, water thoroughly and let it drain, and never leave it standing in water. Other orchid types need different care.

Are Phalaenopsis orchids toxic to cats or dogs?

The ASPCA lists Phalaenopsis orchid as non-toxic to cats and dogs. This applies specifically to verified Phalaenopsis, not to every orchid, and eating any plant can still upset a pet's stomach. Contact your vet if you are concerned.

Can orchids be delivered the same day?

Yes, to most Cape Town suburbs, on orders placed before 12pm Monday to Saturday. Orchids are not sent to Johannesburg or couriered nationwide.
