What Is In the Elegance Rouge Cake

• Vanilla Madeira sponge soft, buttery, close-crumbed. The traditional milk-sugar-eggs-vanilla-flour recipe, made the way Madeira should be made.
• Smooth vanilla icing a clean vanilla coat finished by hand to a smooth wrap, not piped or textured. The blank canvas the floral topper sits on.
• Fresh pink rose one fresh-cut pink rose from our florist studio, placed by hand on the morning of dispatch. Removable before serving.
• Faux peony bloom one decorative faux peony in soft pink-cream tones. Non-edible. To be removed before cutting and kept by the recipient as a small keepsake.

How To Serve and Store the Cake

The cake arrives ready to present. Remove the faux peony before serving and keep aside for the recipient as a small keepsake. The fresh pink rose can stay on the cake until just before cutting or be removed earlier and placed in a small vase. Best enjoyed at cool room temperature on the day it arrives or the day after, taken out of the fridge twenty minutes before serving so the icing softens slightly. Refrigerated and covered, the cake keeps for 3 days. Cuts cleanly into 8 to 10 milestone-size slices. Find a Vase: Your lovely blooms need a drink! Put them in your favourite vase with fresh water as soon as possible.

Trim Those Stems: Keep those stems fresh by cutting them at an angle. This allows more water up the stem. Checking and trimming the stems every few days will keep them sound.

Gently Strip Leaves: Remove any excess leaves, especially from the part of the stem that will be submerged. This helps to avoid rot and bacteria, which can shorten your flowers' life span.

Remove Old Blooms: Drooping flowers release ethylene gas, which may accelerate the aging of other flowers. Strip off any dead or dying flowers to keep the rest of the bouquet looking bright and fresh.

Keep Them Cool: Place your flowers away from heat sources such as heaters, televisions, or ovens to retain the beauty of your flowers.

Clean Water: Always place your flowers in clean water. Refresh your vase with water daily or at least every second day.
